The Asbury Park Wall Elks lodge donated $1,000 to Jersey Rocks for Ukraine. Pictured are Dr. Julie Master holding the check and her daughter, Eva Master.
The Jersey Rocks for Ukraine concert held at the House of Independents in Asbury Park last year raised more than $40,000 for the Ukraine.
Eva Master, a singer in the area, wanted to do something to help the people of Ukraine. Last year she went to her mother, Dr. Julie Master, and asker what they could do.
“I answered and said you can do what you do best, which is to sing,” her mother said.
That night they decided to organize the Jersey Rocks for Ukraine concert. Every dollar donated to be used to fund Educational programs and supplies for Ukraine’s children.
“We partnered with Hope for Ukraine charity and Rockit Academy, which is the premier music program in New Jersey. More than 30 kids performed on May 15, 2022 at House of Independents in Asbury Park. Concert was a huge success and so far, we raised over $40,000.”
With these funds they were able to renovate two schools in Ukraine and provide much needed educational supplies.
Master was born in Kyiv which is the capital of Ukraine, and when she was 15 her family immigrated to the United States in hopes for a better life. It was in this country she realized her dream to become a physician.
From the first day of the war Russia began against Ukraine, Master and her family began helping our friends and family members left in the Ukraine.
