Anticipation is building for thousands of fishermen as the approach of the 30th Annual Asbury Park Fishing Club’s Fishing Show draws near. This major sporting event, considered “The Original Plug Show,” is scheduled for Sun., March 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel.
Since the doors opened in 1992, this has become the benchmark for all fishing exhibitions for those looking for good deals on fishing equipment — tackle, rods, reels, charters, lures, etc. Featured are more than 100 vendors including some of the east coast’s top plug makers.
Admission is $5 (free to children under 12 when accompanied by an adult) with funds donated by the club to various local organizations including the Asbury Park Little League, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Fulfill, Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County and local environmental groups.
