An Eatontown resident was arrested and charged with burglary and resisting arrest following a foot pursuit in Interlaken March 21, police said.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Deal police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Grassmere Avenue in Interlaken for a report of a subject possibly breaking into vehicles. Sgt Brian Egan and Police Officer Jon Losquadro arrived in the area shortly after and observed a subject committing a vehicle burglary.

The accused immediately fled the area upon being approached by police. Following a brief foot pursuit the Tahmel Brazile, 23, of Eatontown was placed under arrest by Police Officer Nicholas Dowling.

Brazile was transported to Deal Police Headquarters for processing and charging.  The accused was subsequently charged with five counts of burglary, resisting arrest, obstruction and possession of burglary tools. In accordance with bail reform guidelines, the accused was committed to Monmouth County Jail pending a court date.  The Deal Police Department reminds the public to always lock your vehicles when you are not with them and to report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
