In Asbury Park Grand Avenue’s traffic pattern has been improved and now consists of four-way stop intersections at Monroe, Sewall, First, Second, Third, Fourth and Seventh Avenues. Additionally, a painted buffer is being added to the existing bicycle lane on Grand Avenue from Cookman to Sunset Avenues. Historically Grand Avenue has experienced a high number of traffic accidents between multiple roadway users. City officials said the new traffic pattern will improve visibility, lower vehicle speeds, provide for safe crossings, and improve safety for bicycle and scooter riders.
