Bradley Beach Gearing Up to Celebrate 130th Anniversary

Celebrations include music, food and entertainment

Bradley Beach, one of the area’s most popular coastal towns,  is gearing up to commemorate its 130th anniversary with a series of community events beginning Memorial Day weekend.  

Main Street has been adorned with colorful  1893 commemorative flags, leading up to the Memorial Day Parade. The festivities will continue June 10 with the 130th anniversary celebration event, Flavors of Bradley Beach, bringing together residents and friends to revel in the rich history and vibrant spirit that defines Bradley Beach.

The event is at capacity with 300 resident attendees registered.

Flavors of Bradley Beach, taking place June 10, will feature an evening of music, dancing, food and fun. The festivities will kick off at 6:30 p.m. under a big tent at Bradley Beach’s iconic 5th Avenue Gazebo Oceanfront Promenade, a picturesque venue.

Bradley Beach Mayor Larry Fox expressed his excitement, saying, “The 130th anniversary is a significant milestone for Bradley Beach, and we invite everyone to join us in celebrating the enduring charm of our town.This event is a testament to the incredible community spirit that has shaped Bradley Beach over the years, and we look forward to welcoming residents and all friends of Bradley Beach to be part of the joyous flavor of the evening.”

Attendees on June 10 will be greeted with entertainment by three local bands – Stringbean and the Boardwalk Social Club, Kate and the Melonheads and The Carol Lester Band.  An assortment of local cuisine will be available during the event  featuring a variety of offerings  from the borough all donated by 27 local businesses, reflecting the diverse and flavors that define Bradley Beach’s culture. Bradley Brew Project, known for its craft beers, will introduce a limited edition “Greetings from Bradley Beach Hazy Pale Ale“ to commemorate the 130th anniversary.

Children will also be part of the evening on June 10with a dedicated Kids Party at the Bradley Beach Recreation Center featuring interactive activities. This will be free to families attending the event.

The 130th anniversary celebration is a collaborative effort between the borough, Bradley Beach Business and Community Alliance, and the Bradley Beach Historical Society. Together, they have formed a committee of 20 dedicated Bradley Beach volunteers, who, with input from the borough, are planning and coordinating the June 10th celebration capturing the vibrant community spirit of the town.

Thank you to the 27 generous supporters of Flavors of Bradley Beach: Abuelita Food Market, Back In Time Cafe, Beast Equipment, Bradley Brew Project, Bradley Cafe, Chinatown Kitchen, Country Farm, D’Arcy’s Tavern, Del Ponte’s Bakery, Del Ponte’s Coal Fired Pizza, E. Holland Sundries, FINS Tropical Cuisine, Josie’s Good Eats, Juquilita Grocery, La Fogata Ideal, Luna Verde Vegan Mexican Restaurant, Marandola’s, Murray’s Army-Navy, Oaxaca By The Sea, Panchos and Juanchos, Rocco’s on Main, Shore Wine and Liquor, Skratch Kitchen, Speedy Mart, Stockroom Modern General, Vic’s Italian Restaurant and Pagano’s UVA Restaurant.

All contributing businesses and bands will receive complimentary tickets to the event as a token of gratitude. In addition, the parents of graduating Bradley Beach Elementary School eighth-grade students will be honored as special guests.

Additionally, as part of the 130th anniversary celebrations, the Bradley Beach Business and  Community Alliance will host Alliance Week from June 24 to June 30 featuring a series of engaging community activities. The festivities will include ParkFest  July 9, offering a day of family-friendly fun in Bradley Beach’s Riley Park.

The success of the 130th Anniversary Plan is supported by sponsors: New Jersey American Water, Ann Marie and Larry Fox, Katora Realty, Brown and Brown, CME Associates, Monmouth County Tourism, Sobel Han Cannon LLP, and Starkey, Kelly, Keneally, Cunningham, and Turnbach.
