For more than 15 years, the Rotary Club of Asbury Park has hosted its annual Veterans Appreciation Lunch.
This year’s lunch is scheduled for Wed., Nov. 1 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Renaissance in Ocean Township. According to Gail Matarazzo, event co-chair, “Every year this luncheon is looked forward to by many of our local veterans. We are honored to serve lunch to these fine men and women along with their guests.”
The Neptune High School ROTC provides the color guard for the presenting of the flag.” Dina Blackwood, event co-chair said. “The ceremony is so meaningful to the older Veterans to see that there is a younger generation coming up that shares their same patriotic values. As well as the cadets to see for themselves that these Veterans still hold great American pride.”
This event is free for veterans and includes a full lunch and group photo after the event. Guests are welcome to attend for $17 per person. Matarazzo said more information about the event can be found throughout the month of October with invitations sent to all the area VFW’s and area clubs with a substantial veteran make up.
