The ribbon cutting at Qdoba Mexican restaurant in Ocean Township Mon., May 20.
By ED SALVAS
Ocean Township Mayor John Napolitani joined other township officials and friends for the ribbon cutting to mark the opening of Qdoba Mexican Eats, the newest business at Ocean Commons at Route 35 and Deal Road.
Qdoba is a fast casual restaurant offering a menu of all fresh Mexican food for dining in, take-out, delivery and catering. All food is fresh, not fried and each meal order comes with free guac and queso.
The word Qdoba has no real meaning, it means different things to different people, according to restaurant managers.
People were lined up waiting for the doors to open Monday morning. The first 100 people received a free burrito for a year. Qdoba is open seven days from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with 25 full and part time employees
Napolitani said he was happy to be taking part in another opening and ribbon-cutting at the Ocean Commons, calling it one of the “premium spots” in the township. Already open at Ocean Commons are a WAWA service station and convenience store, Chick-fil-A, the Turning Point for Breakfast, Lunch and Brunch, and Miller’s Ale House. A Marriott Extended Stay Hotel is nearing completion and Napolitani said the Commons should be completely open by the end of August.
The group behind Qdoba is the Integritty Group of Langhorne, Pa. The company has 32 Qdoba restaurants in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York and Florida. Check them out at www.TIGcorp.com.
