The Asbury Park Museum, a 501c3 non-profit all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving Asbury Park history, invites the public to the fundraising concert featuring Stormin’ Norman Seldin and his band featuring Stormin’ Norman Seldin, Ryan Gregg, Chuck Lambert, Christopher Plunkett and Robert Boyd. All five are stars in their own right and are among some of the best musicians in the area.
The event will be held in the Johnny and June Room of the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel.
The museum will also be unveiling its newest exhibit, “Edge of the Waters: From the Lenape “Scheyichbi” to Bradley’s Founding of Asbury Park,” which will be on display in the hotel lobby.
The exhibit will cover the history of Asbury Park 200 years before its founding by James Bradley in 1871.
All proceeds will benefit the Asbury Park Museum and help to fund the exhibits on display for the community and visitors to the city.
A consummate entertainer, Stormin’ Norman Seldin’s storied career has taken him from bars and juke joints to Madison Square Garden and the White House. His style combines his deep appreciation for American Roots music with his classical upbringing, starting with piano lessons at the age of 3. His work led him to be credited as one of the originators of the Sound of Asbury Park, a blend of rhythm and blues, rock, pop and doo-wop synonymous with the Jersey Shore in the ‘60’s that birthed a musical movement.
