Free concerts are scheduled every Thursday in the bandshell on the Asbury Park boardwalk.

Conductor John Luckenbill will strike up the band for the 79th season in Asbury Park Thurs., July 4.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Arthur Pryor Band Shell on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. The band plays every Thursday through Aug. 29, performing a varied selection of music from Sousa marches to songs from Broadway, the movies, TV and pop standards.
The concerts are free and each concert has a theme. Here’s the list for 2024:
July 4 – Celebrate the 4th
July 11 – Broadway (Children’s Concert)
July 18 – Time for Jazz
July 25 – Time to Dance (Children’s Concert)
August 1 – Ladies Night
August 8 – Broadway Now
August 15 – Great Entertainers (Children’s Concert)
August 22 – Music by the Numbers
August 29 – Salute to the Armed Services (Children’s Concert)
Each year the band of professional musicians is joined at several concerts by students from area schools who perform at the top of their class. They are listed as Children’s Concerts.
The Bandshell is on the boardwalk at Fifth Avenue with access from the boardwalk and Ocean Avenue by stairs and elevator.
