Tom Gilmour
At the June Board of Directors Meeting, Tom Gilmour of Asbury Park was elected as the new President of the Monmouth Ocean Development Council and assumed the position July 1.
Gilmour is the former Director of Economic Development and Good Times for the city of Asbury Park. He also served as the executive director of the Trenton Downtown Association before retiring in 2021.
“I am honored and proud to have been selected for this role,” he said. “My professional experience and passion have qualified me to take on the position during this very challenging business climate. The Monmouth Ocean Development Council played a major role in supporting my success in turning the City of Asbury Park around and repositioning it again as a major Jersey Shore destination.”
Gilmour is also very active with many community organizations. He is a founding trustee of the Asbury Park Music Foundation, a board member of the Asbury Park Theater Company and a past president of the Rotary Club of Asbury Park. He also served as a Borough Councilman in Fair Haven for nine years.
