Neptune Police Det. Sgt. Frank Maletto and Det. Owen Rosenthal arrested suspected car thief and burglar, Jason Deneault, 19, with a last known address of Hampton, NJ while he was walking in the area of Route 33 and 35 in Neptune.
On July 24 Neptune Police were alerted to a vehicle which was stolen from the 200 Block of Fisher Ave. and a report of a second commercial vehicle which was burglarized on Route 35 in the area of Olden Avenue. Through an investigation, Daneault was identified as a suspect in both crimes.
Neptune detectives and other police personnel set up surveillance and were able to locate Daneault the following day in the area in which he was arrested. After compiling video evidence and conducting interviews, Daneault was ultimately charged with theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglar’s tools. Daneault additionally had active bench warrants for his arrest from Asbury Park Municipal Court.
Daneault was later transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing in accordance with bail reform.
