On Sept. 16 during the late-evening hours officers responded to the train station on a report subject committing lewd acts on an incoming train. The subject was removed from the train without further incident and turned over to NJ Transit officers. The subject was eventually transported to a local hospital due to his level of intoxication. Sgt Lipari, Ptl Eustace and Ptl Williams were the involved officers.
On Sept. 18 during the early morning hours, officers attempted to stop a high-end vehicle on Main Street that had been reported stolen. The pursuit of the vehicle was terminated when it became too dangerous for the general public. Ptl Williams was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 19 after stopping a 38-year-old Neptune man for a motor vehicle violation, police found the vehicle’s inspection sticker was fraudulent. He was processed and released on two summonses. Sgt Lipari was the involved officer.
On Sept. 20 during the early morning hours, officers attempted to stop a 51-year old Asbury Park man for an equipment violation. After initially trying to elude the officer, the subject was finally stopped. And charged with hindering his own apprehension (giving false information to a law enforcement officer). He was also issued summonses for driving while suspended, careless driving and maintenance of lamps. Ptl Riker was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 20 officers stopped a 30-year old Howell man for a motor vehicle violation and subsequently placed him under arrest on DWI related charges. He was processed and released on 7 seven summonses and his vehicle was impounded. SO II Nichols was the arresting officer and was assisted by Ptl Chipak and Ptl Riker.
On Sept. 21 police responded to the area of the train station to assist NJ Transit with traffic control, after the railroad crossing gates were malfunctioning. NJ Transit workers were able to repair the problem.
On Sept. 21 after stopping a 26-year old Long Branch woman for motor vehicle violation, police found the vehicle was unregistered and there was no proof of insurance. The woman was processed and released on two summonses. Her vehicle was also impounded. SO II Griffin was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 21 police stopped a 67-year old Neptune City man for a motor vehicle violation and found the vehicle had no insurance. The driver was issued two summonses and released and his vehicle was impounded. Ptl Riker was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 22 during the morning hours, officers stopped a 42-year old Long Branch man for an equipment violation and found he was unlicensed (never having had a license). He was processed and released on 3 summonses. The registered owner of the vehicle was also issued a summons for allowing an unlicensed person to operate their vehicle. SO II Griffin was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 22 after stopping a 20-year old Long Branch man for an equipment violation, police found he was unlicensed (never having had a license). He was processed and released on 1 summons. Ptl Riker was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 23 police arrested a 30-year old Red Bank man on an active county warrant, after stopping his vehicle for an expired registration. He was also found to be unlicensed (never having had a license) and his driving privileges were also suspended. He was processed and issued 3 summonses and was turned over to Monmouth County Sheriffs officers. Sgt Rapolla was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 24 officers charged a 36-year old Long Branch man with possessing a fraudulent inspection sticker, after stopping his vehicle. He was processed and released on two summonses. Sgt Rapolla was the involved officer.
On Sept. 24 police charged a 51-year old Ocean Township man with possessing a fraudulent inspection sticker, after stopping his vehicle. He was processed and released on two summonses. Sgt Rapolla was the involved officer.
On Sept. 25 officers arrested a 32-year old Asbury Park man on an outstanding warrant, after stopping his vehicle. He was processed and released, after posting 10 percent cash bail. There were no local charges filed. Ptl Bailey was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 26 police charged a 42-year old Asbury Park man with possessing a fraudulent inspection sticker. He was processed and released on 1 summons. Ptl Chipak was the involved officer.
On Sept. 27 after stopping a 19-year old Neptune man for having a stolen license plate on his vehicle, officers found the plates had been reported stolen, but recently recovered. The driver was charged with possessing a fraudulent inspection sticker on his vehicle, however. He was released on 1 summons. SO II Griffin was the involved officer.
During the late-evening hours of Sept. 28 officers stopped a 35-year old Long Branch man for an equipment violation and found he was unlicensed (never having had a license). He was processed and released on two summonses. Ptl Riker was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 29 police stopped a 27-year old Pt Pleasant man for a motor vehicle violation and found his driver’s license was suspended. He was processed and released on two summonses. Sgt Rapolla was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 30 after stopping a 46-year old Asbury Park man for a motor vehicle violation, police found the man’s motorcycle was unregistered, the man was unlicensed (never having had a license), his driving privileges were suspended, and the motorcycle had no insurance. He was processed and released on four summonses and the motorcycle was impounded. Sgt Rapolla was the arresting officer.
On Sept. 30 officers responded to a Main Street address for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. This matter remains an active investigation and due to video surveillance footage of the incident, police are hoping to identify the suspect quickly. Ptl Bailey took the report.
