The Neptune Police Department is scheduled to participate in the 2024 National Faith and Blue Weekend in partnership with Jersey Shore Worship, led by Pastor and Neptune Police Chaplain Nancey Jackson Johnson.
The event is scheduled for Oct. 12 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove. It is free and open to the public.
Faith and Blue Weekend is a national initiative with the mission of building safer and stronger communities by engaging law enforcement officers and local residents through the connections of faith-based organizations.
Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Neptune Township FOP and PBA.
This event focuses on the Partners of Peace initiative, a collaborative effort between the police department and the Neptune Township community. This initiative underscores the shared responsibility to maintain peace and safety in the community, and reminds all that the community’s support is just as crucial as the police’s commitment to the community.
The Neptune Police Department will have a tent with branded items such as wristbands, buttons, and flyers. These items would serve as a tangible reminder of the partnership and encourage ongoing engagement. Partners of Peace—Faith and Community United works to enhance the relationship between the Neptune Police Department and the community and set a precedent for future collaborations. This partnership models how faith-based organizations and law enforcement can work together to create a safer, more connected, and peaceful community.
