Emily Scoles’s crocheted stacked pumpkins are just one of thousands of handmade gifts available at the 28th St. Paul’s Holiday Craft Fair Sat, Nov. 23 in Ocean Grove.
With the holidays fast approaching, residents and visitors to the area are invited to get a head start on finding unique gifts this season at the 28th Annual Holiday Fair Sat., Nov. 23 at St. Paul’s Ocean Grove Church.
The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you prefer one-of-a-kind handmade items created by local crafters and artisans, this is the place you will find them.
The fair features more than 50 large tables filled with hand crocheted/knit wear, various styles of jewelry, functional pottery, specialty cooking sauces, holiday home décor, soy candles, natural body scrubs and lotions, and more.
Not just a place to get your holiday shopping done but also a place where it is not uncommon to run into friends and acquaintances.
Holiday gifts can seem extra special when you can tell the story of meeting the local artist/crafter who made them.
This year’s show will be crochet artist Emily Scoles’s first craft fair! She grew up in a small town in upstate New York where on a college spring break, her mother taught her how to crochet. Since then, she has been exploring her creative side during her free time between raising four young children and home schooling two of them.
Her crocheted items include fall pumpkins, Christmas wreaths, snowmen keychains and stylish earrings.
If you’re hungry there will be homemade soup, three options and a homemade chicken salad sandwich on the side to take home for lunch or dinner. Freshly made cookies, cakes and pies are ready to share with friends that evening or freeze for holiday parties.
Every purchase of lunch-to-go, plus a wide variety of home baked goods, will benefit St. Paul’s church missions helping people in need of life’s necessities.
Admission to this show is always free and so are the 25 raffles to win handmade gifts from participating crafters!
