The Sea Hear Now festival is returning to Asbury Park Sept. 13 and 14 on the beachfront with an additional event downtown Sept. 12.
Fans of the annual festival have been wondering when or if it it would be announced.
At press time Mayor John Moor told The Coaster the festival would be returning to the city.
At the recent City Council meeting Madeline Monaco of Ocean Avenue asked the council about the festival.
“I’ve heard a lot of different things about whether or not Sea.Hear.Now is coming back in September,” she said.
At that time Moor said the city was in final stages of negotiations.
Founded in 2018, Sea.Hear.Now is the brainchild of Toms River natives Tim Donnelly and Danny Clinch, in collaboration with C3 Presents producer Tim Sweetwood.
The two-day festival has been taking place on the beachfront in September featuring dozens of bands. Last year’s headliner was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Over the years other performers have included Patti Smith, the B52s, Nora Jones and the Gaslight Anthem.
