The Neptune City Borough Council has approved a $23,750 bond issue for the acquisition of new information technology equipment.
Borough Administrator Al Jardine said an upgrade of the computer servers for the borough office and the police department would result in “keeping all of our data safe.” The administrator said other improvements were related to the borough’s construction office.
Jardine said the separate servers now used by the administrative office and police department would be combined into one.
“We’re complying with new state requirements for permitting to be able to submit and do plan review online,” the administrator said.
The council approved the hiring of Tedi Pascarella as part-time assistant librarian in the borough.
A service agreement with Dynamic Testing Services of Toms River has been extended through the end of March 2028. The borough is required to have regular drug testing in certain instances to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
The borough hired Joseph Ciccone as temporary building and fire safety official.
