On March 17 on Newark Avenue Najee Alston, 21, of Newark was arrested and charged with burglary and theft stemming from a stolen motor vehicle investigation. The vehicle was stolen in November 2024 and upon locating the vehicle the detective bureau was able to obtain forensic evidence linking Alston to the crimes. Alston was a wanted person for several months until he was ultimately arrested by an agency and subsequently turned over to this agency.
On April 5 on Main Street a 16 year old juvenile was issued summonses for driving without a license and the vehicle’s owner, Alex Santiago-Garcia, 30, of Bradley Beach was issued summonses for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate his motor vehicle. The investigation started when the 16 year old juvenile left the vehicle running and unlocked while doing errands at which point it was stolen. The vehicle was later recovered in Asbury Park, and police determined the adult owner had allowed the unlicensed teenager to utilize the car for “errands”. Det. Gregory Pancza and Ptlm. lan Ambrose handled the call.
On April 7 on Main Street Kenneth Persico, 58, of Belford was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia following a field contact. Persico was seen acting suspiciously around unoccupied parked motor vehicles and upon contact he was also found to have an active contempt of court warrant. Ptlm. Andrew Redmond made the arrest. An officer from our K9 unit was deployed to Asbury Park to assist the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office in a narcotics search of a motor vehicle. The K9 had a positive alert.
The Bradley Beach Police Department arrested two individuals on an active contempt of court warrants and investigated three motor vehicle accidents between March 17 and April14.
