Ocean Township police arrested three Long Branch men and a Tinton Falls man in connection with dozens of car burglaries over the last month.
Police said police officers and detectives have been investigating dozens of car burglaries on Rustic Drive and Garden Drive within the Middlebrook apartment complex.
On June 14 at approximately 2:30 a.m. patrol officers responded once again to this complex for a motor vehicle burglary in progress. Police located two subjects who then fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, Mario Mondragon, 20, Tinton Falls and Genaro Guzman, 21 Long Branch were arrested.
Also located in the immediate area were Carlos Santiago, 24 and Jonathan Dolores, 20, both of Long Branch who were sitting in a nearby vehicle belonging to Mondragon. They were both subsequently arrested for narcotics offenses.
Follow-up by Detectives Jesse Orbach and Christopher Brady linked Mondragon and Guzman to over 30 car burglaries. Detectives also recovered a large amount of stolen property in a motel room in Tinton Falls.
Santiago and Dolores were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. They were processed and released pending a future court appearance. Guzman and Mondragon were charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, possession of burglar’s tools, and receiving stolen property as well as one count of obstruction and marijuana possession.
They were processed and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Facility awaiting a detainment hearing.
