Marilyn Schlossbach, who submitted a petition this week for a City Council seat in the Asbury Park election, has been disqualified.

In order to be placed on the ballot for a seat in the Nov. 4 election 89 certified petitions are needed. She only had 87. It was her first bid for elected office in the city. She owns several businesses in the city including Langosta Lounge and Pop’s Garage, both on the city boardwalk.

Twelve other candidates submitted petitions for the election. This will be the first election in the city under the new form of government approved by voters.
