The second annual Grillin and Chillin event will take place at The Headliner in Neptune on Wed., Aug. 21. The purpose of the event is to honor local businesses in the area, with the event giving those local businesses the opportunity to present their products to the public.
“This event is a special one, because it is dedicated to New Jersey local business owners, entrepreneurs, and to those that run the businesses on behalf of the owners that are owned and operated in the state of New Jersey,” the organizers of the event said in a statement. “Shopping and supporting local is very important and this event is designed to showcase and promote the important.
The Grillin and Chillin Event is free to the first 150 people that reserve a spot prior to Aug. 9. Free admission will include free entry and barbeque selections, including burgers, hot dogs and other sides, that will be in their own designated area. There will also be music, announcements, prizes, local business tables and other attractions for those in attendance. Since alcohol is being served at the event, all guests must be over 21 years of age.
“We are also asking all attendees to bring a non-perishable food item, or canned goods, to help fulfill Monmouth and Ocean County’s “Hunger Won’t Win Here,” event organizers said. “Let’s do a little to help the community.”
Canned, packaged and nonperishable foods will be accepted as donations, but perishables will not.
Businesses that are interested in a vendor space will be able to advertise for free, but are required to pre-register and get approval from the event organizer. If a business is approved, they will be required to bring a table, raffle items, and to promote on Facebook or Instagram that they will be attending the event.
Any questions can be sent to event organizers Victoria Vasile and Mary Zaletski.
