A long-time supporter of the A.P. Little League, the VFW will be hosting this pre-season event to help highlight the Little League program to the community. This fun day will feature not only fun activities for the kids such as bouncy houses and ping pong tables, but also music will be provided by a DJ. Hot dogs have been donated by Steve Levine of the Asbury Park Windmill Restaurant and will be available free of charge to the children.
For all fans of the game of baseball, the event will also include an exhibition of Negro League memorabilia that has been assembled by Tony Richardson of Neptune. His extensive collection, as well has his passionate knowledge of baseball history, bring to light the struggles against segregation that were present in Major League baseball as well as all other areas of society. Anyone who loves the game of baseball will not want to miss this exhibition.
