The Neptune Raiders Bowling Club, founded more than 40 years ago and active in community causes, is sponsoring a dinner Sat., June 6, in memory of member Warren Worthy Sr., who recently died.

The dinner will be held 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, 1515 Corlies Ave. (Route 33). Tickets are $20 each, available through Dave Jenkins, telephone 732-306-6192, or Leamon “Toby” Tatum, 732-768-4333.

Worthy died at 63-years-old May 2 with his wife, Gwen Farris-Worthy, at his side.

He also was a member of American Legion Post 266, Neptune, and United Fellowship Baptist Church, Asbury Park. He was a founder of God’s Team, a mentoring program that includes softball, basketball, cheerleading and bowling.

Worthy was born June 29, 1951, in Brooklyn to Guy and Jannie Worthy. Beside his wife, survivors include four sons, David, Wendell, and Terrell Worthy, all of Neptune, and Curtis Farris of Aberdeen; two daughters, Crystal Worthy-Price of Neptune and Denise Farris of Atlanta; 21 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hazlet handled the arrangements.
