A new Family Dollar store, along with other retail spaces, may be built on Route 35 in Neptune under an application recently presented to the Planning Board.

The Planning Board will hold a special hearing on an application by DeVimy Equities, LLC
to build the retail stores on Wed., Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. The first hearing on the application was held on Oct. 25.

The project, located within the Route 35 and West Bangs Avenue Redevelopment Area, will be built on a vacant lot on Route 35, between Monroe and West Bangs avenues.

The next hearing will continue to take testimony on the proposal by DeVimy Equities to develop the site with two retail buildings: one containing an 8,320-square-foot Family Dollar store and an additional 4,864 square-feet of other retail, with the second building having 3,000 square-feet of retail space.

The application also calls for parking areas, driveways, landscaped areas, storm water management facilities and associated site improvements.
