A recount of ballots in the recent Neptune City municipal election did not change the results giving Democrats control of the Borough Council.
Following the recount this week the results are: incumbent Democrats Pamela Renee and Glen Kocsis were reelected to new three-year terms on the council. Renee was the top vote getter with 1,347 votes and Kocsis was next with 1,320 votes.
GOP challenger Rob Burr received 1,301 votes and his running mate, Michaela O’Brien, placed fourth with 1,258 votes.
For the unexpired one-year seat Democrat challenger John Pietrunti received 1,312 votes and Republican incumbent Brian Sullivan received 1,302 votes.
The Borough Council holds its reorganization meeting at noon on Fri., Jan. 1.
