What are you looking for in a presidential candidate?

Robert White, West Long Branch – I’m looking for an intelligent person who’s studied history, and who understands the consequences of bad decision making. Like a Churchill, Teddy Roosevelt, John Adams and Abraham Lincoln. I’m looking for a wise person.

George Anton, Neptune – I want a moderate who id pro gun control but also pro life. Strong foreign policy. Strong on immigration. Someone who doesn’t care if they are politically correct. Care for the poor, but don’t give away the farm.

Ty Bottani, Neptune – Experience is the number one, both in domestic and foreign policy. And someone who demonstrates they understand the problems facing this country today. And someone who truly understand how important it is to have a strong middle class.

Judyth Brown, Ocean Grove – I’m looking for someone who’s going to pay attention to the economy. New Jersey is at the bottom of the recovery pile when it comes to jobs and manufacturing. There are a lot of people suffering, and I’d like to see something done for them.

Neil Den Bravein, Ocean Grove – A man with morals.

Doris & Stanley Eskridge, Neptune City – One that will be fair with everyone, not just a select few. We need to bring the country together. The United States is one of the richest countries in the world, and we need to be equal. And we need someone who’s not so quick to go to war, especially for profit. And bring the jobs back from overseas.

Rhona & Allan Levy, Barnaget – Allan: I’m looking for someone who’s going to be honest, has integrity and high moral values. Someone who’ll put the country first. Rhone: Elizabeth Warren appeals to me, and what I read about her is what I’m looking for in a candidate.

Elana Maloney, Middletown & Claudette Scoras, Manasquan – We agree that we need someone who can get things done – in a kind way. Let’s start focusing on humanitarian problems. Helping all the people in the world who are running for their lives.

Linda Morton, Ocean Grove – Honesty, handsome, heroic. The 3 h’s. A woman is good, too.

Sharon Sanford, Neptune – Someone with integrity. Someone who does what they say they’re going to do. I understand the political machine blocks plans at times, but at least make an effort. If they can manage this, they will address the important issues.

Racheal Stanuszek, Manchester – I’m looking for someone who will be honest in what they say. And they seriously look to benefit the people. I think that is about it for me.
