Jessica Berger, Tom Wilson & Erica Neal, Starving Artist – We love to shop at the Arcade on Cookman, especially Flying Saucers. Seasons in Ocean Grove has cool stuff. Artifacts Boutique n Belmar, Cheese on Main in Ocean Grove has it all. Comfort Zone in Ocean Grove. The Ocean Grove Florist, too. We love them. Hippy Chick’s in Belmar is really good, different. Shop small, forget the mall!
Michele Bradby, Asbury Park – I love to eat in Asbury Park. Great food. Frank’s on Main. Toast on Cookman, I like Paranormal on Cookman. Interesting stuff- very! I like to support the local stores.
Barbara Brennan, Ocean Grove – They have a lot of nice shops in Ocean Grove. I live there and love shopping there. I do photography and love the arts in general. I am a gallery assistant at Belmar Arts Council. We have many one-of-a-kind items that make wonderful gifts. If I want something, I can usually find it locally. That includes food, too.
Sandra Burton, Asbury Park – Target, Dollar General. Wegman’s. Shop Rite. Foodtown in Neptune and Ocean. I pretty much stay local.
Abbie Carthy, Wanamassa – The Ballard Thrift shop in Asbury is the best hands down. I go to the Jersey Shore Thrift shop, Yesterday’s Best. It is the best. To me, these are the real stores. I try never to go to Walmart, on principle.
Joe Diefenbach, Sean Moran w/ Michael Moran & Lucas Ciccolella – We like Wegman’s, A & J Sneakers in Asbury. We love Franks. Everybody loves Franks. We like Brando’s, too. Asbury Hardware has it all.
Jeff, Fran & Patti Hines, Ocean Grove – We love the Main Ave Galleria, lots of one of a kind items there. We own art from there. We shop the Cheese Shop, Ocean Grove Hardware, Ocean Grove Trading Company. We just are breakfast at Nagels. We shop at the Emporium. The Comfort Zone is the best smelling store in Ocean Grove.
Philip Moses, Ocean Grove – I like shopping at the Antique Emporium on Cookman as well as the shops in Ocean Grove. Most of my needs revolve around food. The Ocean Grove Bakery, Cheese on Main. I do like the Sea Grass, very much. Good food. Good service. Good ambiance.
Pam & Ron Reich, Avon – We like to shop on Cookman Ave. Russo Music, the Antique Emporium. We like to go to the movies at the Showroom. Nita Ideas on Cookman, And all the restaurants. We’re waiting for the new Taka to open. We like Pascal & Sabine. We do more eating than shopping.
Louis Santiago, Belmar – I just moved here from California. I found Dean’s Health food store when I went looking for good merchants in the area. I try to shop locally, but i’ll go out of my way for a better place. That’s how I found Dean’s.
Stuart & Jeannie Schlesinger, Asbury Park – When we moved into Asbury 5 years ago, we bought everything in our apartment in Asbury and we try to buy as locally as we can. Stuart buys his whole wardrobe at Lightly Salted, Jeannie likes Foolish Ginger on Cookman, We love all the shops on Cookman. We bought our furniture from Robert Legere.
Joan Schnorbus, Ocean – I’m a huge craft show shopper. I look for unusual things. I like shopping Asbury Park and Ocean Grove. they have unique things. I shop the farm markets, the street fairs. I support those kind of outlets. I like the shops at the Arcade, This N’ That, Eyes of the World. Foolish Ginger, down the street. I like the Emporium in Ocean Grove, Ginger Bread, too.
Derek Smith-Winnes, Asbury Park – I have gone across the bridge to Allenhurst to Shore Antiques, and shopped a lot there. All downtown on Cookman is a good place to shop. I try to stay away from the malls. It’s better to throw the business toward the local neighborhood. It helps.
Victoria Walseth & Nicole Cernigliaro, Oakhurst – We like to go shoe shopping. We shoe shop at DSW, Eatontown and at the Lord & Taylor outlet in Shrewsbury. We love Shore Antiques in Allenhurst. There’s a vintage clothing store inside that has amazing things.
