The Neptune City Board of Recreation will be hosting an outdoor concert in Memorial Park on Sat., August 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The concert, featuring Bobby Byrne will be partially benefiting the nine children of Tami Seidle who was killed on June 17 in Asbury Park.
John O’Heney and Rob Burr, both board members of the Board of Recreation in Neptune City went to Neptune High School with Seidle.
“She was such a nice person,” said O’Heney, who along with the board decided they would use the concert in the park to be an opportunity to help the Seidle’s nine children who range in age from 7 to 24.
“A lot of people may not know the children,” said Oheney. “Bobby Byrne will make a lot of public announcements throughout the concert about the donations.”
Bobby Byrne, a “local, living legend” in the area plays Irish, Broadway, opera and Italian music. Oheney said he hopes that Byrne’s popularity will bring both old and new fans.
Those wishing to help can donate during the concert or they can drop off donations at the Neptune City Community Center from 12:00 – 8:00pm. Attendees are asked to bring a chair or blanket to the show. For more information contact the Neptune City Community Center at 732-774-0089.
