Borja Dellcampo, Mission Committee chair said 130 volunteers will be meeting to assemble the meals of rice and beans which will then be sent either to foreign countries or the United States, depending on the need.

Dellcampo said she is hoping that for their next mission project for Stop Hunger Now they can gather more people to make it an all day event and package 100,000 meals.

“We want to include other churches and more members of the community,” she said.

The meals packaged this weekend will be sent to the closest Stop Hunger Now location in Philadelphia.

From there the organization will decide where to send them.

Dellcampo said she plans in the coming months to set up an email address for the next meal packaging project.

According to Wikipedia “Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief agency that seeks to end global hunger by engaging local volunteers. The organization was formed in 1998, and began its meal packaging program in 2005.”
