A Denville man was arrested by Deal police July 15 and charged with bias intimidation and third degree terroristic threats following an incident at a synagogue.
Police said at approximately 1 p.m. Police Officer Jon Losquadro was dispatched to the Lawrence Ave Synagogue for a report of a subject screaming obscenities at congregants. Officers responded to the scene and interviewed the victims and learned that the accused had made several terroristic threats that were bias in nature.
Following further investigation, the accused, Nicholas Skirvin, 44, was located on the Fourth Avenue beach in Asbury Park and was arrested by Deal officers.
The accused was transported to Deal Police Headquarters for processing and charging. The accused was charged with second degree bias intimidation, third degree terroristic threats and harassment. In accordance with bail reform guidelines the accused was committed to Monmouth County Jail pending a detention hearing.
