ASBURY PARK – Reality television is coming to Asbury Park and it’s going to be “Jerseylicious.”
The reality-based show, “Jerseylicious,” which follows the exploits of employees from The Gatsby Salon in Green Brook, NJ, will begin filming 10 episodes in Asbury Park and the surrounding area beginning July 1. The shows, which appear on the Style Network, are expected to air later this year
Developer Pat Fasano, Asbury Park said the show’s producers have rented one of his three-bedroom summer rentals on Third Avenue in Asbury Park, one block from the boardwalk
“I don’t know why they are coming here but I have rented them the house and I think it’s great. There is going to be a lot of publicity for Asbury Park and that’s exactly what we need,” he said
Lori LaVolpe, the locations associate producer for the show, said that the cast will spend the rest of the summer at Asbury Park but also visit other shore locations as well.
“We will visit a lot of the local restaurants and experience Asbury Park with all of its amenities,” she said
Various members from the show’s large cast will be in Asbury Park at various times from July 1 through Labor Day, perhaps even into October, and filming episodes here.
“We have a large cast and are now in our sixth season. We wanted to stay close to North Jersey and thought that Asbury Park would be a great place to stay. We thought Asbury Park was beautiful and an up-and-coming place. We definitely want to be part of something trendy,” LaVolpe said
“Plus the location of the house was very important to us,” she said
Reruns of the series also air on the Bravo Channel. “Jerseylicious” is produced by Endemol USA with Alex Duda and Anthony Dominici serving as Executive Producers. Sarah Weidman and Merah Chung executive produce the series for Style.
