Shooting Death in Neptune

coaster-news-200A 20-year-old Bradley Beach man was shot and killed in Neptune on Monday night and police are looking for help in solving the crime. It is the first homicide in Neptune in six years.

Neptune Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim outside a residence on Seventh Avenue around 8:18 p.m. on Monday night. Officers located the victim, Andre D. Thorne, 20, of Bradley Beach, who was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where, despite life-saving efforts, he died at 9:43 pm.

“This is the first homicide in Neptune since January, 2010,” Police Lt. Michael McGee said.

A joint investigation is ongoing involving the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Neptune Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
