Millions of dollars will be distributed to 18 municipalities in Monmouth County for infrastructure-related funds from the state Department of Transportation.

The funds were announced this week by Sen.Vin Gopal and  Assemblymembers Eric Houghtaling and Assemblywoman Joann Downey.

“From potholes to faded paint, many of Monmouth County’s roads are in sore need of rehabilitation and repair,” Gopal said. “Cracked, aging roads don’t just look unpleasant – they can also cause accidents and millions of cumulative dollars of vehicle damage across New Jersey. That’s why we’ve fought hard to ensure that local infrastructure projects will be fully funded in 2019, which will go a long way toward making our roads safer for drivers and pedestrians alike.”

“This funding package will support projects in every single one of District 11’s 18 municipalities,” Houghtaling said.“We’re proud to have won over $250,000 for improvements to Hawthorne and Woodland Avenues in Neptune City, a full $325,000 for a resurfacing of Hope Road in Tinton Falls, nearly $200,000 for improvements to North Riverside Drive in Neptune Township, and millions of dollars more for infrastructure projects across each one of our 18 towns.”

“Every dollar we invest in infrastructure today will pay off tenfold in the years to come,” Downey said. “In total, District 11’s 18 municipalities will receive over $12 million in infrastructure funding to cover important rehabilitation and improvement projects. We’re glad to see the State paying attention to the needs of Monmouth County residents, and we will keep working to provide our constituents with the funds they need for essential projects and programs.”

The list of disbursements in District 11 includes the following:

Allenhurst Borough – Corlies Avenue – $275,000.00
Asbury Park City – Memorial Drive Improvements – $339,686.00
Deal Borough – FY2019 Roadway Improvement Program – $315,000.00
Interlaken Borough – Improvements to Rona Street and Woodmere Avenue – $200,000.00
Loch Arbor Village – Euclid Avenue Phase IV – $137,000.00
Neptune City – Improvements to Hawthorne and Woodland Avenues – $251,045.00
Neptune Township – Improvements to North Riverside Drive – $196,439.00
Ocean Township – Deal Road – $315,000.00
Tinton Falls Borough – Hope Road Resurfacing – $325,000.00

The 11th District includes the Monmouth County municipalities of Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Colts Neck, Deal, Eatontown, Freehold, Freehold Township, Interlaken, Loch Arbour, Long Branch, Neptune City, Neptune, Ocean Township, Red Bank, Shrewsbury Borough, Shrewsbury Township, Tinton Falls and West Long Branch.
