Asbury Park is holding three holiday events this month.
On Fri., Dec. 6 there will be a tree lighting in Fireman’s Park at 5:30 p.m. The park is located at Main Street and Sunset Avenue.
Santa will be visiting and there willbe performances by local artists.”
On Sat., Dec. 14 Asbury Park’s annual Kwanzaa Celebration is at the Asbury Park Senior Center at 2 p.m.. The center is located at 1201 Springwood Ave. on the second floor.
This celebration of culture and community will feature cultural music, performances by local artists, refreshments, giveaways and more.
This year’s theme, Legacy 365, is derived from Adinkrahene, The African principle of Leadership and Excellence.
The Springwood Park Tree Lighting is 5 p.m. Sat., Dec. 14.
The evening will include an appearance by Santa, holiday music and treats for the kids.

The open house at the Ocean Township Historical Museum is Sat., Dec. 7 and Sun., Dec. 8. The galleries are filled with model trains, seasonal collections, handmade crafts and home-baked goodies. Living history interpreters will entertain visitors with holiday songs The Garden Club will be selling wreaths on the porch. The winning quilt ticket will be drawn at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The Township of Ocean’s Community Celebrations Committee will host a festive Christmas Tree Lighting Sat., Dec. 8 beginning at 4:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Historical Museum, 703 Deal Road.
There will be activities for all ages including:
• Christmas Train rides for children
• Personalize your own ornament for the Township Tree
• Marshmallow roasting
• Songs of the season from the Navesink Brass Band
• A visit from Santa
• Snacks and hot chocolate will be served
Officials ask that visitors arrive early and visit the museum’s holiday display. The museum will close at 4:30 p.m.
