The Clambake Wines, a Mantoloking-based wine label, is helping to give back.
As a small business, the company will send two complimentary bottles of wine to customer’s health care workers of their choice for every case of wine purchased (12 bottles). The company is making the offer as a way to thank them for their service. You can find their website at this link.
Also, the company is offering free shipping to everyone. As you know, wine is heavy and expensive to ship, but founder Mary McAuley is determined to do what she can to keep people home and out of the stores to help flatten the curve.
McAuley is also speaking out on behalf of small businesses and wine labels who are trying to survive a time when the restaurants that carry them and make up for 85 percent of their revenue remain closed (or aren’t serving wine). With laws shifting to account for changing events, she is now able to sell her wines directly to consumers.
McAuley, a French Culinary Institute grad, was often tasked wines for her friends’ annual clambake on the Jersey shore. When she couldn’t find exactly what she was looking for, she rolled up her sleeves and made them herself for the next year with premium Mendocino grapes.
