The Asbury Park-Wall Elks Lodge 128 was recognized by local officials Sat., June 13 in recognition of the lodge’s continued charitable support in Neptune and the surrounding area.
“The lodge does so much for the community and they have certainly stepped up in its response to the Covid19 virus,” state Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling said.
Houghtaling presented Lodge officials with a special state Assembly Proclamation while Neptune Mayor Robert Lane Jr. presented them with a township proclamation.
“The lodge has gone above and beyond and it has always been very generous with its donations. We want to honor their service in this time of need,” he said.
Lodge officials said they have recently given away $12,500 to local food banks and other charitable causes.
Exalted Ruler Roberta Lerner and lodge officer Harry Smith accepted the proclamations on behalf of the lodge.
