Dining on Asbury Park Streets Begins Today

The ReOPEN Asbury Park plan is scheduled to begin today (June 18) at 3 p.m. and run until Sunday at 7 pm. During this time some streets will be closed to through traffic and parking to allow restaurants and business owners to expand outside their stores.

The street closures will take place every Thursday through Sunday until further notice.

The closed streets are:
Cookman Avenue – from Main Street to Bangs Avenue
Emory Street – from Bangs Avenue to Summerfield Avenue
Mattison Avenue – from Bond Street to Emory Street

In these pedestrian areas:
No skateboards, scooters or bike riding permitted. Please walk your bikes.
Social distancing will be required.
Face coverings/masks are required if patrons are away from their table outdoors or entering the indoor premises to pick up take-out or use the restroom.
Alcoholic beverages may not be removed from dining areas.
All outdoor activities must end by 10 p.m.

Outdoor Recreation
Thursdays 3pm through Sundays at 7pm these streets will be closed to through traffic and parking to allow for outdoor recreation by pedestrians and cyclists:
Prospect Avenue – from Bangs Avenue to Comstock Avenue

Slow Streets
Thursdays 3pm through Sundays at 7pm these streets will be open to local traffic only to allow pedestrians and cyclists to utilize more of the street and slow traffic.
Third Avenue – from Ridge Avenue to Langford Street
Fifth Avenue – from Bridge Street to Langford Street

Officials ask that the public wear face coverings or masks when in pedestrian walkways. Social distancing will be required.
