The Asbury Park Toy Drive realizes this has been a tough year for everyone including the toy drive organizers.

So, they have created an event to help us bridge the gap on the fundraising shortfall because of pandemic restrictions. “Pedaling for Presents” will take place on the green space at First Avenue and the Boardwalk on Aug. 30 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a rain date of Sept 6.

Teams of one to four riders will pedal on a bicycle mounted on a trainer for a total of 12 hours (must provide their own equipment). Each team will be asked to raise $300. Prizes will be awarded for the team that raises the most donations.

The spaces are marked out with social distancing guidelines in place. Organizers will provide beverages, fruit and snack bars for participants.

Cyclists can register teams with the form on their website www.asburyparktoydrive.com. Any questions can be sent to asburyparktoydrive@aol.com.

This is a live outdoor event. Donation boxes will be installed at the site to accept donations of new, unwrapped toys or new coats, gloves, hats and cash donations for the upcoming winter season.
