Neptune police arrested a township man on Nov. 4 following a three-month narcotics distribution investigation.
On Nov. 4 the Neptune Township Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Chelsea Court in the Gables section of Neptune.
Arrested during the warrant was resident, Jason Cruz, 44. The search warrant yielded approximately 13 ounces of cocaine, a 45 cal. handgun, paraphernalia, and equipment used to package and distribute narcotics. Additionally, $4,314 in U.S. currency believed to be proceeds of the narcotic distribution was recovered.
Cruz was charged with maintaining a drug manufacturing facility, possession of over five ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of over five ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute in a school zone, possession of over five ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute in a public park zone, possession of cocaine, possession of a weapon during a narcotic offense, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain person not to possess weapons and possession of drug packaging and preparing materials.
Cruz was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing in accordance with bail reform.
