Kula Cafe on Springwood Avenue in Asbury Park is hosting several workshops in the upcoming weeks.
On Jan. 14 a Kimchi Workshop is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; on Jan. 19 a Cannabis Industry Workshop is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Jan. 22 a Nature Printmaking Workshop is scheduled from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
The Second Annual Kimchi Making class at Kula Farm is an interactive class where participants will all participate in the making of their own jar of Kimchi to take home. Kimchi is a cabbage based ferment that is full of flavor and easy to make. Fermented foods are excellent for gut health, boost immunity and are pretty delicious too.
This is a free event but donations are welcome. Those attending are asked to bring their own 16-ounce jar. The event will take place in the warm greenhouse.
At the cannabis workshop participants will learn how to start their own business and tie it into a larger network of businesses. Also discussed will be ways to process cannabis into different products. Participants will make infused rice krispie treats.
New Jersey municipalities are currently accepting applications for growing, manufacturing, distributing, and retail licenses. At the workshop there will also be ways to connect and educate the community about how to get established in this new industry.
