Main Street: Barbar Youchah, 49, of Ocean Grove was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following police response to a minor motor vehicle accident in a local bank parking lot. Police Officer lan Ambrose made the arrest with the assistance of Police Officer. Anthony Badalamenti.
Aug. 19
Third Avenue: Joanne DiTommaso, 69, of Red Bank was arrested and charged with false public alarms. DiTommaso purposely and knowingly pulled the fire alarm at a local bed and breakfast establishment when there was no actual fire or emergency shortly after midnight, police said. This created a full emergency response from police, fire and first aid departments. Sgt. William Major and Police Officer Kevin Gale handled the investigation and arrest.
Aug. 19
Main Street: Ronald Eugene Tindal, 35, of Asbury Park was arrested and charged with theft. Surveillance video showed Tindal steal an unlocked motorized bicycle and flee north on Main Street. Patrol response and assistance from the Asbury Park Police Department resulted in Tindal being stopped in Asbury Park on the stolen bike. Det. Christopher Wilson handled the investigation and arrest.
Aug. 20
Fourth Avenue Beachfront: Steven Lee Goldenberg, 63, of Morganville was arrested and charged with simple assault following a dispute on the beach. Goldenberg was unhappy with another beachgoers placement of their umbrella which led to an argument and ultimately Goldenberg “spitting” on the other party. S/0 Travis Kegley made the arrest.
Aug. 20
LaReine Avenue: Alberto Torres, 51, of Asbury Park was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Torres struck an unoccupied, parked police vehicle then fled the scene. Police Officer Edwin Hernandez witnessed the accident and stopped Torres a short distance away. His investigation revealed Torres was intoxicated which led to the arrest.
Aug. 22
Ocean Avenue: Vikram A. Rajan, 30, of West New York was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension following an incident on the beachfront. Rajan was found consuming open alcohol on the beachfront and when confronted by officers provided a false identity. Rajan was additionally charged with multiple borough ordinance violations surrounding the open alcohol he possessed on the beachfront. S/0 Travis Kegly made the arrest.
Sept. 6
Brinley Avenue: Alexandra M. Sternback, 44, of Bradley Beach was arrested and charged with trespassing following an incident at her condominium unit. S/0 Jenna Waldron handled the call and arrest along with Ptlm. Kevin Gale.
An officer from the K9 unit was deployed to a retail establishment in Manalapan for an explosive detection based on a threat. The store was cleared without incident, however the officer was called back for another threat a week later. Again, the store was cleared without incident. Another officer from our K9 unit was deployed to assist Neptune Twp PD on a narcotics investigation during a motor vehicle stop. This assist resulted in a large amount of heroin and paraphernalia being located inside the vehicle.
The Bradley Beach Police Department arrested one subject on an active contempt of court warrant and investigated nine motor vehicle accidents.
