Rachel McGreevy, mayor-elect of Neptune City, said she is thrilled to have won the mayoral election.
The final vote 747 to 730 reflects a lead that started with eight votes on election night, she said, and continued to grow as mail-in and provisional ballots were processed and cured by the Monmouth County Clerk.
“I would like to thank the voters of Neptune City for making this historic win possible” said McGreevy, who will be the first woman to serve as mayor in the borough. “On behalf of our ticket, McGreevy, Kocsis and Renee, we would like to recognize our opponents Mayor Wardell, Michael Keppler and Craig Morcom and the hard work of both campaigns. We look forward to working with everyone in the community to deliver results for Neptune City residents.”
She said she is honored and humbled to have received the trust of voters and looks forward to serving the great community of Neptune City.
