Asbury Park Board of Education Vice President Shadeen Alls Bey has resigned, two years into her three year term on the Board.
The sudden resignation is effective immediately and no reason given for her decision, according to people who confirmed the resignation to The Coaster. Alls Bey was elected to a three-year term in 2021 ending in 2024, and was elected vice president of the Board in January of this year.
The board now has 65 days from the date of Alls Bey’s notice of resignation to find a successor to complete the term and then possibly run for a full term. The board can act quickly to name a successor or wait until January when the winners of the November election are seated. Wendi Glassman joins incumbents Joe Grillo and Anthony Remy on the board and they will be sworn in for three year terms on January 4 in the New Year.
Shadeen Alls Bey could not be reached for comment.
