The Ocean Grove Beach Foundation is hosting its second annual Winter Social for a fun night of getting together with fellow residents and friends of Ocean Grove in support of the beach town.
Organizers said last year’s sold out event was a great opportunity for people to reconnect with summer friends in the midst of winter, and meet new people who love Ocean Grove. The committee is scheduled to host this year’s event at the Headliner’s Oasis Grill in Neptune Sat., Feb. 3 beginning at 6 p.m. Reservations of $50 per person includes a buffet dinner, cash bar and support of upcoming beach improvement projects as well as lifeguard safety and training equipment purchases.
The Ocean Grove Beach Foundation, headed by president, David Jenkins, is celebrating 10 years of supporting the Ocean Grove community. Enhancements over the years include the shower towers enjoyed at most beach entrances and landscaping projects including added dune grass, seasonal plantings and shrubs. The non-profit organization has purchased a variety of lifeguard training and safety equipment such as paddleboards, boats and oars, and supplies for the junior lifeguard programs.
For a limited time, commemorative 10th anniversary hooded sweatshirts featuring an original logo designed by local artist John Glenn are being sold specifically to fund the construction of two new junior lifeguard boats. The soft, comfortable, navy blue sweatshirt will help keep you warm this winter .
