BRADLEY BEACH – The Bradley Beach Chamber of Commerce is putting together the finishing touches for the annual Lobsterfest scheduled for July 13 and 14 at the beachfront.
The hours for the event are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 13 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 14. With more of a focus on local Jersey Shore restaurants this year’s event will feature food from Bradly Beach restaurants such as the Beach Plum, Giamonos, Uva and Good Morning Irene’s.
From Belmar there will be Jake’s Crab Shack, Jersey Shore BBQ, Ragin Cajun and Mr. Shrimp. From the Highlands will be Lusty Lobster, as well as Gaetanos from Red Bank, Tigers Tale from Princeton and Casa Di Dolce from Asbury Park.
There will also be a few food trucks rolling in including Kona Ice, Bacon on Wheels and Lukes Lobster.
To showcase the brand new mini golf course, there will be a huge children’s area right next to it including a 50’ waterslide, bounce houses, face painters and sand art. The famous “Bradley Lobster” will be running around dancing and taking photos with the guests.
There will be live local music the entire weekend, with DJ Funsize holding down the Fifth Avenue gazebo playing your favorite hits between bands.
Opening up the festival will be the Crimson Sky band from the Highlands, followed by Stolen Rhodes from Freehold and hailing from Bradley Beach is Fast Clare to close the evening out. Fast Clare is a rock’n’roll band that covers mostly classic rock, rockabilly, rockin’ blues, as well as some modern rock. If you like upbeat guitar driven rock’n’roll that makes you wanna get up and dance, then come check the Lobsterfest Saturday night.
On Sunday it will be the Jo Wymer Band kicking off the party with her amazing vocals, and for the 5th year Random Test reggae band will be closing the party evening.
In addition to the food vendors there will be over 100 artists and craft vendors creating an open air gallery and shopping mecca reaching almost a mile long. As always, attending the Lobsterfest is free.
