Officers responded to the area of Main Street for a report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle. Officers found a car backing out of a parking space knocked a bicyclist off his vehicle. The bicyclist was checked by the Allenhurst First Aid Squad and refused any medical treatment. A report was filed and no summonses were immediately issued. Sgt Lipari was the investigating officer.

After stopping a male subject for a seatbelt violation, police found the driver was only 15 years old. He was processed and released on two summonses, with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver and his parents were notified. SO II Griffin was the involved officer.

Police stopped a 40-year-old Brooklyn woman for a cell phone violation and found her vehicle was unregistered for five years. She was issued 2 summonses and the vehicle was impounded. SO II Griffin was the involved officer.

During the afternoon hours officers responded to the beachfront for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The 80-year old pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the driver, a 23-year old man was issued 1 summons for careless driving. Sgt Lipari was the investigating officer and was assisted by several other officers.

Officers took a report of a bicycle theft from the beachfront. The bicycle was not locked up at the time of the theft. SO II Nichols was the investigating officer.

During the late evening hours, officers stopped a 48-year old Long Branch woman for an equipment violation and found she was unlicensed (never having had a license). She was processed and released on 2 summonses, with a pending court date. The registered owner of the vehicle was also issued a summons for allowing an unlicensed person to operate their vehicle. Ptl Nichols was the arresting officer.

After stopping a 31-year old Asbury Park man for a suspicious temporary license plate, police found the Pennsylvania temporary plate was indeed fictitious. The driver was issued 4 summonses and the vehicle was impounded. SO II Griffin was the involved officer.

Police charged a 31-year old local man with driving with a suspended driver’s license. He was issued 1 summons with a pending court date. Ptl Bailey was the arresting officer.

After stopping a 43-year old Neptune Twp man for a motor vehicle violation, officers found the man was unlicensed (never having had a license),his driving privileges were also suspended and the vehicle was uninsured. He was processed and released on 4 summonses and the vehicle was impounded. Ptl Bailey was the arresting officer.

Police are investigating the report of a theft from an unlocked vehicle that had been parked on Main Street. The matter remains an open investigation and Ptl Kroeger is the investigating officer.

After stopping a 30 year old Long Branch woman for a motor vehicle violation, police found the woman was unlicensed (never having had a license). She was processed and released on 3 summonses, Ptl Nichols was the arresting officer.

During the early morning hours, officers arrested a 49-year old Neptune City man on an outstanding Allenhurst warrant. He was processed and released with a new court date. Ptl Kroeger was the arresting officer.

Officers responded to a Main Street business for a report of a found grenade. The NJ state Police Bomb Squad responded and found the grenade was inert. Sgt Rapolla was the investigating officer and was assisted by Ptl Nichols.

Police arrested a 51-year old Asbury Park man on an outstanding Allenhurst warrant. The subject was processed and committed to the County Jail. SO II Nichols was the arresting officer.

Officers responded to a Main Street location for a report of a possible fight in progress. Once on location, officers determined there was no fight and the call was unfounded. Ptl Kroeger was the investigating officer.
Between Sept. 1 and 15 officers responded to five first aid/fire calls within the Borough.
Allenhurst officers responded to 11 calls involving a suspicious person or vehicle during this time period as well.
Officers also responded to 8 residential and commercial alarm calls during the above time period.
Allenhurst officers also assisted another agency four times during the above time period.
Police addressed nine borough ordinance/code violations during this time period.
