During the early morning hours, officers stopped a 32-year old Toms River man for driving erratically and subsequently arrested him for DWI (his BAC was almost 3 times the legal limit). Officers stopped a 24-year old pedestrian, who another agency was actively looking for, and during the interaction, believed the subject needed to be transported to a local hospital for a crisis evaluation. The subject was transported by the Allenhurst First Aid Squad, with an officer following the ambulance. Ptl Eustace and Ptl Williams were the involved officers.

Officers were attempting to catch up to the speeding vehicle when it crashed into a tree, on Norwood Avenue, in Deal. The crash was handled by the Deal PD and the summonses were mailed to the subject. Ptl Eustace was the arresting officer.
