Mary Vignec, Sea Girt – Yes, I do. I think he’s a very moral man. He doesn’t hesitate to make a decision. He just tells it the way it is. He doesn’t hesitate. I like him, very much.
Mary Ryan, Bradley Beach – I think he’s make an excellent president. I’d vote for him, along with most of my family. And, I don’t think him having Obama here will hurt him in the least. I like his straight forwardness. What you see is what you get.
George Burke, Long Branch & Allison Burg, Caldwell – George: Regardless of my political opinions, I think he would make a fantastic president because he is uncompromised in his values. What you see is what you get. Allison: I sort of agree that he is uncompromising in his values, but I have a problem with some of his policies. Particularly the cuts in education in New Jersey and how he positioned teachers in a negative way. I have a problem with his policies, but I think he could be effective.
Marshall Sigman, Asbury Park – Yeah, i think he would. I think he showed good resolve during Sandy. He handled himself real well. He worked with President Obama in a very effective way. I like the way he presents himself during the State of the State address in Trenton. I can see him giving an excellent State of the Union address in Washington to Congress.
Michael Mullen & Dan Morris, Philadelphia – Michael: I do think he’s the best chance the Republicans have to get into the White House. I think he would make an effective president, but he wouldn’t represent my views. Dan: I think he’s too volatile and hot headed to make an effective president. I don’t think he has the cool headed demeanor for that office. He’s just not presidential when it comes to handling the press and the general public. People in New Jersey are used to that sassy attitude, but that’s not going to fly in Kansas.
Ron MacCarthy, Boost Mobile – My question back to you would be “Why would anyone want to be president?” Do you see how it ages them. Would Chris Christie make a good president? Why not, I think so, and I’m a Democrat He went after corruption. Why not give him a shot. I’d vote for him.
Luana Fernandez, Toms River – Yes, because he gets things done. I like his attitude. He’s a family man. He’s not afraid to get out there without his suit on. He’s just like everybody else. He’s not pretentious.
Grace Locory, Farmingdale – You know, I do. I like the way he shoots from the hip. He reminds me of Ed Koch. People say we don’t have politicians like that anymore – yes, we do. Chris Christie. I don’t like the fact that he’s spending millions on that special election. That gives me a bit of a pause. But I do think he would make a good president. I do.
Sandra McEnough, Neptune – From New Jersey, I have to say yes. I liked the way he reached out to President Obama after the storm. Even thought his party didn’t like it, he put that aside and got the job done. He did what he had to do for the state, and I think he’ll do what he has to do for the country. That’s how I feel.
Derrick & Debra Grant, Asbury Park – Derrick: I think he would make an excellent president. We need somebody who’ll be assertive in office. I like his style. Even though he’s a Republican he has independent policies. Debra: I like Chris Christie. I think he would make a wonderful president. I do wonder how his blunt style will play on the national stage. It will be interesting to see if he will be embraced, in spite of himself. He’s funny. I love his news conferences.
Patrick McDermitt, Ocean Grove – Yeah, he’ll be fine until we can get Cory Booker in the White House. I think Cory Booker is great, he has a lot of integrity for a politician, and I don’t really care for politicians. But I think Christie is a good bipartisan leader for New Jersey. And I think he would do likewise in the White House, as long as he doesn’t go too far to the right.
