Following an Ocean Township police investigation a Long Branch man was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor Jan. 9.
Police said at approximately 8:50 a.m. Jan. 9 they responded to the Intermediate school where a report was taken of a sexual assault that occurred at a residence in the township.
During the course of their investigation, township police detectives and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office took statements from the victim and potential witnesses. It was learned that the accused was living in Long Branch and officers responded to his residence.
While on location in Long Branch, the accused, Lasaro Cesar Quintino, 52, was located and placed under arrest. He was transported to headquarters, but declined to provide a statement. He was charged, processed and committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending his initial court appearance.
At no time was the accused at the school nor did the incident occur on school property.
