Michael F. Muscillo, the current administrator of Tinton Falls, is expected to be appointed Ocean Township’s new Township Manager at the June 8 Township Council meeting.
Muscillo was previously the township manager for Lakewood from 2010 to 2013 and before then was the Municipal Administrator in Hazlet.
Ocean Township Mayor Christopher Siciliano said more than 30 applications for the position were received and that about a dozen were invited to come in for an interview.
He said Muscillo was the most qualified, has a great background, and has already done this job in other towns.
“We feel he can do every aspect of the job. He knows how the deal with county and state agencies. He is very good at what he does and will be a great addition to the township,” he said.
Muscillo is a graduate of Long Branch High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government at Montclair State College, graduating in 1995.
He earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Valdosta State University, located in Georgia, in 2006.
He replaces Andrew Brannen, who left for a position at Kean University.
