Gitta Kaplan was sworn in to fill the vacant seat on the Ocean Township Council at a special meeting Tues., Jan. 30.
Kaplan fills the vacancy left by Margie Donlon who won election to the state Assembly in November.
Mayor John Napolitani called Kaplan a great addition to the council.
“Bright, articulate and hard working,” he said. “We interviewed four fantastic community involved people. They were all very qualified but Gitta got the support of myself and the other three council members unanimously. There was not even a disagreement from anyone on council. I am looking forward to working with Gitta to see her be successful and a welcome addition to the Township of Ocean Council.”
